Stony Man, Shenandoah NP, Virginia

The weather had turned rather icy, but I thought maybe the recent thaw would have melted the ice cap that permeated everything this last week. I was wrong, once I got to Front Royal the ice was still all over everything. Thus, my plans for a long hike were eliminated. Instead I decided to take a short hike to a place I have been avoiding due to the crowds, Stony Man. This mountain is the highest point in the Mid-Atlantic. I took a bunch of pictures on Skyline Drive which was very pretty with the snow. I'll let the pictures and video do the talking today.

Side view of Stony Man. Get it? There is a man.

One minor quick note. Virginia allows smoking in its restaurants. It's nasty. Bring your own food and cooking supplies when visiting.

That's beautiful! I love rocks. I would pass the Shenandoah on my way to college and always wanted to check it out. What a smart idea sleeping in your van. I like it!

One of the many things I enjoy about your blog is you stay active. I love the outdoor workouts. I prefer that to the gym any day.

I keep on forgetting about that, Tuesdays at Loonies? I am so sorry, I will put it on the schedule and activate the alarm.
