Comparison between Baltimore and Detroit, Percentages of Homicide Victims in Different Age Ranges

One would think what was going on in both Baltimore and Detroit would be similar, but when it comes to the respective cities age ranges of homicide victims it turns that Baltimore has a much higher percentage of people between the ages of 20 and 29 being murdered than Detroit. Detroit has a higher percentage of young victims in the 10-19 age range and also higher percentage of its seniors over the age of 59 becoming homicide victims. In 2010 the population of Baltimore City was 621,000 and there were 223 homicides. For Detroit the population in 2010 was 714,000 and there were 308 homicides. In 2011 Detroit ended the year with 344 homicides and Baltimore had 196 homicides.
